ARTWORK
A MASSIVE thank you goes out to Lucy and Tomas who collectively created this website and the wedding invitation artwork on the landing page. If you would like some custom artwork for your own wedding, custom childrens books/stickers/temporary tattoos, please, please, please check out Lucy's website, lusym.com.
Thank you guys so much for all your work!
RECOMMENDED APPS
To make your time smoother, we recommend the following apps be installed on at least one phone in each travelling group/family.
Bolt - Uber, but cheaper.
Grab - Another Asian Uber. Comes highly recommended. Also has an UberEats type service, useful if you get sick.
Google Translate - I recommend downloading the app and adding Thai language within the app. Once you download a language, you won't need internet be able to translate. Download Czech while you're at it!
PASSPORT INFO
For those Australians that don't have a passport, click here for the link to the official passport website for Australia.
It's fiddley so I recommend starting sooner rather than later.
Any issues, hit us up directly for assistance.
ESIM INFO
- What is an ESIM?
An Esim is like a sim card, but doesn't require the use of a physical SIM. You can purchase a physical SIM card in Thailand, but having an ESIM will mean you can be set up before arrival. Do not rely on Wifi being readily available.
- Our Recommendation
We will be using AIS. Checkout the AIS Website which has many options depending on the duration of service, data quantities and whether you want it for more Asian countries than just Thailand.
- How to Install an ESIM
ESIMs aren't hard to set up, but for the not so tech savvy, we have included some links to youtube videos that helped us.
For Android, find a video here.
For Iphone, find a video here.
We recommend setting this up the day before leaving for Thailand so you don't accidentally start the plan early and waste whatever money you had put onto the ESIM.

GENERAL INFO
A couple of things to consider to make your journey a smooth one and to enjoy your time.
This is Thailand. Things move slower. Buses are late. Internet is patchy and slow. Ordered taxis may or may not show up. This a part of the charm. You’re on holiday so enjoy the differences and remember there is no rush to be anywhere. If in doubt, grab a beer and a Pad Thai and chill the fuck out.
Jacob will certainly be renting a scooter for at least the Phuket part of the journey, and likely beyond. Who wants to be in our scooter gang?
